Freeview is Australia’s free digital television service, responsible for presenting and promoting Australia’s free-to-air channels and content across the nation.
Launched in 2008, Freeview followed its mission to deliver a free-to-air platform – with 25 channels and free catch-up services – to all Australians. Wherever, whenever and on whatever device they choose.
The Freeview FV iOS and the Android app delivers live streaming from 19 free-to-air channels and catch-up content to enjoy on-the-go – provided with an intuitive, modern interface.
We helped Freeview FV win Connie and Stevie awards in 2017 – establishing it as an internationally award-winning platform and a world-first.

The Challenge
Designing a “never seen before” app for a committee of savvy networks.
Freeview works in collaboration with all the Australian networks (ABC, SBS, Seven, Nine & Ten), who brainstormed the features for the FV app together.
Liquid Digital was able to process the group’s vast feedback and establish a customer experience that balances between form and function.
The result is a smart design with a quality user experience (UX) and interface (UI) that enables the user to intuitively play live TV, enjoy a localised guide and navigate through and find what they are looking for out of Freeview FV’s great content.
