Digital Readiness Checklist

Before investing in new technology, a website rebuild, or a digital
strategy overhaul, take ten minutes to assess where you stand right now.
This checklist covers the fundamentals.

Strategy

  • You have a documented digital strategy (not just a marketing plan)
  • Your digital goals connect to specific business outcomes
  • You review and update your digital strategy at least annually
  • Your leadership team understands and supports the digital strategy

Customer experience

  • You’ve mapped your customer’s digital journey from awareness to advocacy
  • Your website loads in under three seconds on mobile
  • Your digital touchpoints are accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA minimum)
  • You collect and act on customer feedback regularly

Technology

  • Your website platform is actively maintained and up to date
  • Your key systems (CRM, email, analytics) are integrated
  • You have a disaster recovery plan for your digital infrastructure
  • Your tech stack can scale with your business over the next two years

Content

  • You have a documented content strategy or editorial calendar
  • Your content is written for your customers, not for search engines
  • You repurpose and update existing content regularly
  • Your brand voice is consistent across all digital channels

Data & analytics

  • You track meaningful KPIs (not just vanity metrics)
  • Your analytics setup is accurate and properly configured
  • You use data to inform decisions, not just report on activity
  • You comply with privacy regulations (GDPR, Privacy Act)

How to use this checklist

Count the items you can honestly tick off. If you’re hitting less than
half, there are likely foundational gaps that need addressing before
investing in growth tactics. If you’re above 75%, you’re ready to
accelerate.
